VIReC produces Research User Guides for selected VA
data sources that are utilized by researchers. The guides
describe the contents of the data sources, give information
on requesting access, and provide bibliographies of reported
research applications of the data. All Guides are PDF
documents; some are large and may take time to download.
The VIReC Web site also includes full descriptions of
the VHA
Decision Support System (DSS) (both production data
and National Data Extracts), the VHA
Medical SAS Datasets (including SAS® proc
contents), and the
Pharmacy Benefits Management database.
